Have you ever looked at our logo and thought; why the HB initials?
While some initially think that it is perhaps the first initials of our names, once we introduce ourselves as Fred and Jeremie, that theory pretty much goes out the window.
So if the initials have nothing to do with our name, why the HB?
GOOD THINGS COME IN THREES
We have all heard the saying that “Good Things Come In Threes.”
The “rule of three” (Latin-“omne trium perfectum”) principle suggests things that come in threes are inherently more humorous, satisfying and effective than any other number of things.
But what does this have to do with the HB name?
It just so happens that one of our favorite all time movies is Slap Shot featuring the iconic Hanson Brothers of which there are three. Note the emphasis on the “H” and the “B.”
That’s right; the HB stands for the first initials of our favorite movie characters who, like us, consists of three brothers. By the way, it was Tom Campbell from our former employer Campbell Pools who actually made the connection.
Besides Fred and myself, our younger brother Josué is also working with the company. And yes, we do play hockey.
Of course, we play music, which means we are like another trio of famous brothers; the members of the band Hanson. Hmmmmm, we may be on to something here.
So there you have it, one mystery solved, although thinking about it now, maybe we should change our last name to Hanson.
