Reliable Pool Closing Services in Ottawa

STEP BY STEP

Our Pool Closing Process

1. Site Arrival & Inspection

We call ahead before arrival, introduce ourselves at your door, and inspect the pool area before starting.

2. Water Level Adjustment

For pools using our Duck Plug system, water is kept at mid-skimmer height to preserve chemistry and minimize loss. Traditional closings lower water below the jets to prevent freeze damage.

3. Blowing Out Water Lines

Commercial-grade blowers remove all water from pool lines to prevent costly damage from frozen pipes. Our Duck Plug method avoids excessive draining, reducing water and chemical costs.

4. Winterizing Equipment

We drain and seal your pump, filter, heater, salt system, and chemical feeder. We also remove ladders, skimmer baskets, and return eyeballs.

5. Pool Closing Kit Application

A specialized chemical kit is applied to maintain water balance, prevent algae growth, and reduce the work needed at spring opening.

6. Antifreeze Protection

Pool-grade antifreeze is added to plumbing lines for extra freeze protection during Ottawa’s coldest months.

7. Safety Cover Installation

A durable, anchored safety cover is installed to handle snow and ice loads, keep out debris, and lower accident risk during the off-season.

What Others Are Saying

We have nothing but great things to say about this company. We had a total redo on our pool, as we needed the cement bottom redone and all new jets and liner. Everyone was so professional and friendly. Emmanuel and Jude were amazing for the liner and explained everything. We chose the right company and could not be happier. Sheldon & Diane Empey

Sheldon Empey

We recently got a pool installed by HB pools in late fall 2024. The process was excellent, the communication was clear, they were transparent about all the costs. The staff is very friendly and easy to reach when we have questions. The pool was customized to our needs and size preference. Would HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone who would like a pool installed.

Anne-Marie Lalonde

HB Pools is great at what they do! The team (Fred, Julie, Jacob, Tristan, Sabrina) are extremely professional, friendly and answer all your questions. This is my third experience with them and there will be more to come. Highly recommend HB Pools and their team.

Marc Bolduc

We have been using HB to maintain our pool weekly for the past 3 years. The team is honestly incredible. We never have to worry about anything; they are very polite, professional, and the service is worth every penny. Eoin, especially, needs a raise! Rain or shine, he always has a smile on his face and truly cares about providing great service. Thank You!

Firas Jundi

From the extensive renovation in 2020 to our annual closing today, the team at HB pools have been exceptional. Their attention to detail and customer service are second to none. They are quick to answer any questions or concerns and always provide expert advice. Using the duck bill system has alleviated any concerns about a floating liner. After 10 years of worries and issues with our initial pool, we now have the back yard oasis we can enjoy. THANKS!!!

Mike Hackett
